Sad

Our niece shared this piece of interesting info with us last night...

Top 10 'Vainest Cities,' according to Forbes:
1. Salt Lake City
2. San Francisco
3. San Diego
4. San Jose, CA
5. Miami
6. Louisville, KY
7. Nashville, TN
8. Virginia Beach
9. New York City
10. Los Angeles

***********
A few people have commented wondering what the criteria is for determining this. From what we understand, the criteria is pretty straight forward: cities with the highest number of plastic surgeries.

Here is the article if any of you are interested in reading it: http://www.forbes.com/2007/11/29/plastic-health-surgery-forbeslife-cx_rr_1129health.html

Enjoy!

I heard that Salt Lake topped the list too. I'm not very surprised, actually.

My little sister goes to Spanish Fork High right now and when I went home in Aug. she was going to school with high heels and jeans. I was like, "Is that normal?" I think I'm either old or totally unfashionable. What happened to wearing a t-shirt and jeans and normal shoes to school?

I've never heard of this list before, and I'm honestly surprised. Who did they survey and how did they figure this out? Don't they know that the state is mostly housewives who wear sweats and ponytails as they chase small children? Oh well....

Interesting. I actually had heard they calculated the make-up purchases and salon visits of these cities. I didn't know it was plastic surgery. That does surprise me.

When I read this I thought - I wonder who her niece was that told her this, because I just heard the same thing. Then I realized it was me. I'm the niece. Still weird that you are my aunt.
Anywho - this is very sad. I am so glad the article makes no reference to the LDS church though.
go Plastic Utah!

I think it's all the mommies who are going in for tummy tucks after having their 8th child...

Adrianne- I think make-up and salon was included as well as plastic surgery.

Julie- 4 of the vainest cities? Nice work! No worries about spelling my name wrong. Everyone does. I'd like to thank my parents for giving me a weird name spelling.

Lisa- Yeah, tummy tucks and, ahem, enhancements. Just go to 7 Peaks Water Park and see all the Mommies hanging out of their bikinis with their kids running around. :)
