The season is upon us and our garden has just started giving back. Last year, you may remember, was our first time with the garden. We had a good time and best of all, we learned a few tricks. This year we scaled back the peppers, threw in some peas, cut out the pumpkins, moved the melons, nixed the cabbage and spread out the tomatoes.
So, at the end of the day, here's a list of what we're looking forward to eating out of our garden this year:
Watermelons
Corn (Peaches and Cream Sweet Corn)
Tomatoes - Big Boy, Early Girl, Cherry, Roma
Broccoli
Strawberries
Snow Peas
Potatoes
Walla Walla Onions
Yellow Onions
Lemon Thyme
Sweet Basil
Oregano
Chives
Cilantro
Zucchini
Spaghetti Squash
Bell Peppers
Jalapeno Peppers
Each of these plants has its own timing, but right now we're raking in the strawberries and we're just starting to get the peas. I've thrown in a few pics to show off what we've got. You'll note in some of them the chicken wire fence around the garden, a new element this year. After watching Charlie play 'Godzilla Takes On Tokyo' through our garden for a few weeks, we decided this was the only way we were going to get it to produce anything... eyesore? Yes. But everything isn't being demolished all the time now so whatever.

i'm so jealous. man. your peas are beautiful! and strawberries! ahhh, some day...
Totally jealous here too....We have some chives in a planter. Last year we tried to grow cucumbers in a planter. You've never seen such midget cucumbers ever. The carrots didn't fare much better, but we did actually eat them--maybe 20 mini ones.
Wow, your garden looks great. I want to come over & see it sometime.
This is great! I can't believe how many plants you've planted. Very nice. I need to post pictures of my little garden. It is our first year and we are learning a lot too.
I need to come by and see it. You guys will be eating well the end of summer! Can I come over for dinner at that time?! lol -just tricking you!
Will you do a garden for me?
Maybe if the sun would ever shine up here we could have a garden too! I'm jealous!
man, you guys can work it! your strawberry plant is HUGE! That's awesome. Also the chicken wire is not an eyesore, just smart. Why waste time and effort trying to tell them no every single second of the day, just take away the possibility. I'm all about it!
Wow, super impressed with the variety in your garden. Lets just say I live in Iowa, so I'm taking full advantage of the farmers who will grow it for me and sell it to me at the Farmer's Market. Hey good luck with the swimming thing. I would drown - if that motivates you at all.
